Another assignment for the AJC’s Spring Dining Guide 2018 took me up and down Buford Highway, which was obviously wonderful. I got to eat a bunch of crawfish and the locale inspired a fun Dish of the Week column.
Working with restaurants on Buford Highway is always interesting. There’s a huge range in terms of the sophistication and communication abilities of restaurants in this neighborhood, if you can call it that. However, once I’ve gotten my point across and set up a photo session, I’ve never had a bad experience shooting at a Buford Highway restaurant. Many of the restaurant owners I’ve met have been among the most welcoming and generous of anybody I’ve worked within the industry.
Wyatt Williams wrote this interesting piece on Viet Cajun food, and it was a ton of fun to shoot. I also didn’t mind eating all those delicious, in-season crawfish.
